Our founder, Stanley Zimostrad, was born October 25, 1925, in Detroit, Michigan. After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, Stanley graduated from the University of Michigan in 1952. “Maize and Blue” ran through Stanley’s veins during his time at Michigan and, since then, every Saturday in the fall.

 

Stanley graduated from the Detroit College of Law and began his successful career as an attorney with the legal department for the Auto Club Group. While handling a significant caseload in Wayne County, Stanley also managed the Outside Referral Counsel service in mid- and northern Michigan. In 1965, Stanley and his family moved to Bay City to join the trial counsel team of Isaacs & Neering. In 1973, Stanley began his own practice in Bay City.

 

Stanley was a member of the State Bar of Michigan and American Bar Association, the American Defense Trial Lawyers and the Michigan Defense Trial Lawyers associations, among others. Stanley’s son, Eric W. Zimostrad, joined the law firm in 1979 and subsequently became a partner, thus forming the law firm of Zimostrad & Zimostrad, PC.

 

Since that time, Zimostrad & Zimostrad has been a pillar of the Great Lakes Bay Region. During their time together, Stanley and Eric handled a wide range of cases: insurance defense, personal injury, estate planning and civil litigation.

Eric has served as case evaluator and arbitrator in hundreds of cases throughout Michigan for over 30 years. In 2006 he was certified by the Michigan Supreme Court Administrator’s Office as a circuit court mediator. Eric has successfully mediated hundreds of cases throughout the entire Sunrise side of the state.

Meanwhile, after 50 years of continuous service as an attorney, Stanley Zimostrad retired. He passed away August 24, 2009.
